Impact Report 2024
Reducing loneliness and isolation for
older and vulnerable people,
one small act of kindness at a time
Reflecting on 2024 and heading into celebrating 10 years of Small Acts of Kindness, has
created a timely moment for me to stop and think. As I write this, I am overwhelmed with
pride at the journey that we have come on and what we have achieved, the people who
have made it happen and most importantly the difference that we have made to the lives
of so many older and vulnerable people. It is a small and very humbling thought that
nestles amongst the huge amount of planning and support that goes on behind the scenes
to make everything happen at Small Acts of Kindness.
And what a journey we have made together. In 2024 we have reached over 15,000 older
and vulnerable people. Helping and supporting them, with small but meaningful acts of
kindness, at times when so many feel hidden and alone. I read each and every one of the
hundreds of feedback cards that are returned to us every year, and it is these moving
messages and the insight that they give us, that drives me forward to ensure we can keep
meeting the ever increasing demand for our work. These messages remind me, loudly and
clearly, that although the numbers seem huge, each and every person is an individual and
that together we can make a difference, one small act of kindness at a time.
‘your bag reaches out to people in a way nothing else does’
The value and positive impact that our gift bags can bring to vulnerable groups of people, has been recognised in 2024, as we
expanded our reach into new communities, with new projects and partners, meeting the diverse requirements of those who
need support. Our expertise in logistics, stock procurement and project management, together with our passion and
dedication to making a difference, reflects the respect and trust that the community has for our work. Small Acts of Kindness
is the sum of many, many parts and so I would like to say a huge thank you to everyone who has played their part in helping
us to reach the thousands of people in our community, and this incredible milestone. I am extremely proud of where we are,
and excited as to where the journey will take us next.
